In an effort to promote Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), 3E Nagaland, the organisers of NagaWrestleMania 6 (King Of The Ring Series 2017), will share its stage with Yoddha Fighting Championship (YFC) and go one notch higher to present this year’s edition as a Combat Sports Festival from October 26-28 at local ground, Kohima.
NagaWrestleMania, the only categorised Naga wrestling tournament in Nagaland, which features two senior categories- lightweight (74 kg & below) and heavyweight (above 74 kg) and one junior category (14 years and below), has already been announced and registration is in progress at four outlets, namely 3E Office, Sportsworld, Orchid Store Kohima and Life Centre, Pfutsero. The last date for registration is October 14.
Yoddha Fighting Championship, scheduled on October 28, will feature a pre-determined fight card, which will be announced shortly, comprising some of the best fighters in YoddhaFC’s different weight divisions.
In view of this new development, the 3-day mega event schedule which was announced earlier will be slightly altered as follows -
NagaWrestleMania 6 (King Of The Ring Series)
1st Series - Lightweight Championship
2nd Series - Heavyweight Championship
3rd Series - Junior Championship
4th Series - King Of The Ring Championship
YODDHA FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP
October 28- Fight card yet to be announced
All the main events of the Combat Sports Festival, both Naga wrestling and YoddhaFC, will be scheduled in the evening while other attractions such as photography and merchandise stalls, food courts and live concert will go on at other times throughout the festival.
